Comenius West Midlands
Comenius West Midlands helps to develop languages in the region across all phases of education from Key Stage 2 to adult education and community learning. Supporting the Government’s aim to provide high quality teaching and learning opportunities, the Comenius Network offers training and support for teachers and educational establishments in their implementation of the National Languages Strategy.
Comenius centres across the country are funded by DfES through CILT, the National Centre for Languages with additional support from their local stakeholders. Comenius West Midlands is a partnership between the Birmingham Advisory and Support Service and Birmingham LEA.
The centre has a wealth of resources including ICT, Internet access, courses and conferences and a regional support group for Early Language Learning. For more information about Comenius West Midlands visit www.cilt.org.uk/comenius/westmidlands
