Staffs students show off their entrepreneurial flare 7 May 2008
Youngsters from Thomas Alleyne's High School, Uttoxeter, are celebrating their business acumen, after competing in a Burton-based competition.
Two teams of Year 12 students competed against the area's finest in the Young Enterprise programme.
Thomas Alleyne's company ETC were the overall winners - with their business which supports and promotes French as a compulsory subject for primary school children, and have already produced an interactive language CD and book package.
The youngsters are currently working on developing their product range, in time for the regional finals - set to be held on Tuesday at JCB's Rocester headquarters.
Managing director Jack Bradley-Seddon, said: "We have identified the importance of embracing languages with our changing community identities and are looking to produce the CD version of our product in Spanish, Polish and German."
The team of budding business brains have also been working with successful entrepreneur Roy Smoothe of Smooth International, to develop and target a Mandarin Chinese version of their product to support both Olympian delegates at the Beijing Olympics later this year, and JCB employees working in the company's Asian market.
