The following education publications provide advice for those involved in language teaching and education management:
Language books and videos for the primary sector

Higher Education language publications
Providing access to the latest research findings, expert thinking and good practice. Useful for those concerned with developing provision for languages in HE. They examine theoretical and practical issues in language teaching and how it is possible to meet the needs of a wide spectrum of learners.
Adult Education language publications
Providing guidance and practical support to raise standards in teaching languages to adults. Including how to effectively meet the needs of a classroom of diverse ability, experience and motivation.
Languages ICT publications
CILT, the National Centre for Languages, is producing downloadable publications to help you to set up an English PC to work in a non-Roman script. Currently available are Arabic, Russian and Urdu, with Bengali, Gujurati, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Panjabi, Tamil and Turkish being added over the next few months. There are also a set of handouts available to download from the Languages ICT website. Each handout focuses on teaching ideas using a different area of ICT.
Language learning for work in a multilingual world
This book, available from CILT, the National Centre for Languages, is a useful tool for all teachers interested in 'vocational languages'. It presents the experiences of a wide range of language practitioners and researchers teaching language communication for work - a life skill in multilingual Britain and the globalised economy.
