The West Midlands is a major region for inward investment, with around 2,300 foreign companies from over 40 countries employing around 250,000 people based here - that's around one fifth of our region's workforce.  The West Midlands is an attractive proposition to overseas investors, with its central location, good transport infrastructure and top quality universities

Given the international economy in which we live encouraging inward investment is vital but this can only be successfully achieved when the correct factors are taken into consideration, such as the language and cultural barriers of dealing with overseas businesses and the support they will require when relocating to the UK.
